Week07 Whoah, We're halfway there


This week was our 4th week of development! This means that we are more than halfway through our production. The game is slowly getting finished and we're starting to get a feel of the endresult.

Gameplay

This week we spend a lot of time on bugfixing and improving some of the mechanics. We also made a HUD with health and a cooldown bar for our box grabbing and created a moving chainsaw. We also improved our movement by adding a bounce after the grapple and fixing our jump. 

Art

On the art side we finally have the four different colors for our player character. The Colors from the artbible really came through on this with the right lighting. the nice clean colors of orange, red, teal and green really make the characters look different from one another and we all like the results.

This week we finished the finishing animations like the death hit and the HUD animations. We also tried to do 2d animations for the HUD but they were taking too much time so we had to cut them off. 

On another note one of the artists has been spending time making the level and background look as good as it should be. The background now looks better and the clouds will be moving in the background and it will look so nice in the end you better be prepared for it.



And another last thing that was added for the game was thruster on under the platform. The point now is to make the platforms move up and down so there won't be any static places besides the ground, walls and ceiling. There was also a rocket fire effect made that loos really nice with the blue color on the flames.


What's next?

Next week we'll finish up our final mechanics and art, before we head into the polishing phase.
